Kamuy 4.0.2 is a term used by the Ainu people, the indigenous people of Japan, to refer to their deities or gods. A critical ritual that the Ainu people perform to honor the Kamuy is the Iomante ceremony. This ceremony is held to celebrate the death of a bear, which is believed to be a sacred animal closely linked to the Kamuy. During the ceremony, the Ainu people offer prayers and sacrifices to the Kamuy to ask for their blessing and protection.

Despite the importance of Kamuy in Ainu culture, their beliefs and practices were suppressed during Japan’s modernization and colonization efforts in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Ainu people were forced to abandon their traditional life and were often punished for practicing their religion. There has, however, been a revival of interest in Ainu culture and traditions, and efforts have been made to preserve and promote their unique beliefs and practices.
